Product Description

These drill bits are specially designed for mounting ski bindings. They ensure the holes are drilled at the correct diameter, and perhaps more importantly...at the correct depth. They fit any mounting jig, are a full 3" long, and will countersink the screw holes so you don't "bubble-up" the top ski surface when you tighten down the screw. The bits feature a pronounced lip which prevents the bit from drilling any deeper than it should. Bits are sold each.

FOUR OPTIONS AVAILABLE (first number indicates diameter, second indicates depth)
3.6 x 9mm or 9.5mm bits are best for most adult alpine skis without metal in the ski.
4.1 x 9mm or 9.5mm bits are for most alpine skis with a metal or titanal mounting plate internally located in the ski.
3.5 x 7mm bit is for most junior alpine skis.
Always defer to binding or ski manufacturer recommendations.

alpine binding drill bit

My first occasion to mount alpine bindings, so I thought I should get the proper, albeit expensive, drill bit, but much cheaper than the $50.00 the ski shop wanted to mount the bindings. The bit worked well with no damage to the ski. Remember to use the 4.1mm size rather than 3.5mm if the ski has a carbon or other metal laminate.
