Product Description
This thick, clear tape will protect the tops of your skis or snowboard from scratches and gouges while allowing the graphics to show through. The tough, translucent Dupont Surlyn tape is backed with a self-adhesive film for easy application and excellent bonding. It is sold by the foot, so (for example) if you enter 6 for the quantity you'll receive a 6-foot length of 14-inch wide Skuff Saver.
- The tape is 14-inches wide...enough to span any single snowboard or pair of skis.
- 0.3mm thick
- Simply order the length you need and trim the width with a razor knife to fit your needs.
- If you have a Pair of skis that measure 180cm long you would order 6-feet of skuff saver.
- If you have a snowboard that measures 150cm you would order 5-feet of skuff saver.
- Please note this tape only works on smooth surfaces, it won't work on textured top sheets.
- It is sold by the foot, so (for example) if you enter 6 for the quantity you'll receive a 6-foot length of 14-inch wide Skuff Saver.
Installation Tips:
- Clean top sheet of ski or snowboard with isopropyl rubbing alcohol using a lint-free cloth (ie. an old t-shirt).
- Trim any excess material from preexisting gouges carefully with a razor blade so the tape will sit flat.
- If applying to a pair of skis, cut the tape in half length wise so you have two pieces.
- Determine the appropriate length for the tip and tail of the ski or snowboard. It is best to measure from the toe piece to the tip and the heel piece to the tail. On a snowboard measure from front binding to tip and rear binding to tail.
- Cut the appropriate length erring on the side of longer than you think you need.
- Start to peel the backing tape at one end, start at the toe piece and work toward the tip, stick the tape to the top sheet being careful to keep it straight.
- As you lay down the tape peel away the backing, make sure to go slowly and press out air bubbles as you go. If you miss one you can peel the tape back a bit, remove the bubble and continue.
- Use the same technique for the tail of the ski.
- Now it's time to trim the tape to the shape of the ski using a razor blade, I find the blades commonly used in razor knives work better that the thinner common razor blades (see photo).
- Keep in mind the tape will not stick well to the vertical sidewalls of skis, or to the angled portion of a cap ski, the tape is only for the actual top of the top sheet.

Great quality vinyl protection !
Bought this vinyl protection for my son’s skis to keep them from getting marked up. He had some dings and gouges from skiing hard! Vinyl wrap came well packaged and is of great quality. It went on easy and the adhesive is strong! I don’t see dings and gouges being an issue and this will last years. Only suggestion is maybe a one pager or a video reference as to how to apply. I’m pretty handy and after watching one YouTube video I was able to do it right. Great product, fair price, totally recommend.

Ski & Snowboard Scuff Tape
Great to protect painted flat surface. Not just ski equipment. I used on motorcycle and airplane fuel tank.

Quality product, decent install!
I was skeptical that I'd ever get this installed without huge messy bubbles, but was pleasantly surprised. Have a new snowboard with a really fragile topsheet. After one warranty replacement due to the topsheet issues, I figured I'd do my best to protect it for a while. Install was OK - I still have a few little bubbles, but was able to work most of them out. My board has a flat finish topsheet, rather than glossy, but I wouldn't call it textured. It bonded pretty transparently, but I'm sure it would be more invisible on a glossy topsheet. But if you've got one of the newer Burton decks without the glossy topsheet varnish, this will definitely still work for you!

A must have
Honestly this is a must have if you care a bit about your nice looking snowboard topsheet. It's a relatively inexpensive way to protect your board from stupid scratches that happen on chair lifts for exemple. I would not recommend it for textured topsheets though.

looked awful - at least on my skis
While I'm sure this product would do a great job protecting my skis from scuffs and chips (especially because I'm an instructor, with lots of people constantly sliding over my gear) it looked awful on my brand new, solid flat-black Blizzard Brahmas. Every/any imperfection stood out like a sore thumb and I also had trouble trying to apply it without any bubbles appearing. If your skis/snowboard has any type of design, this stuff should look and work great.

Skuff Saver Tape
Reasonably priced, shipped quickly and well packaged. Exactly what I ordered and wanted. Finding a product like this that's wide enough isn't that difficult. Being able to find it by-the-foot for a reasonable cost is harder than you think. Thanks!!

Clear coat
This would be the 8th board I have put this on and it works very well. The one trick that I have found is to let the board and vinyl sit in the summer sun for 30 minutes. You will get fewer bubbles.
